One Thing is For Sure...He's Come A Long Way Since Mr. Peanut.
|
|
It’s been said that from humble beginnings come great things. It doesn’t get much more humbling than wearing a six foot peanut suit and having children chuckle and throw peanuts at you. That’s what Greg McCoy remembers most about his first job. He was just a teenager with a willingness to work hard to earn money, so he donned a giant peanut suit and handed out samples in local grocery stores.
Although it was far from his dream job, that anecdote tells you a lot about Greg. Even as a young boy, he demonstrated a strong work ethic and a willingness to go the distance to get a job done right. Greg credits growing up on a farm for instilling those defining traits in him – traits that endure to this day.
Mr. Peanut No More
After graduating high school as the valedictorian of his senior class, Greg earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering at Bradley University and embarked on a 30-year career with Caterpillar, Inc. During that time, he oversaw many high-profile projects from building new manufacturing plants to developing and monitoring business plans for entire divisions of the company. He even spent four years on assignment in Brazil, where Greg and his wife enjoyed absorbing the local culture, meeting new people and experiencing a stunningly beautiful part of the world. During his tenure at Caterpillar, Greg built a reputation for persistence and hard work – the kind of guy you know will get the job done right.
After more than 30 years with the same company, Greg retired and sought a new professional challenge. His independent streak has always found him leaning toward running his own business, so he decided to pursue a career in real estate in 2002. He’s never looked back.
One Important Project
As one of the Tri-County area’s leading real estate professionals, Greg brings a unique perspective to real estate. Much like the positions he held at Caterpillar, he views his role as a project manager, orchestrating every aspect of your home sale or purchase to ensure its success. He doesn’t think of himself as a salesperson, but rather a facilitator whose persistence and hard work ensure a successful conclusion to your transaction.
For buyers, Greg brings a patient, guiding hand that helps them discover the perfect property to fit their needs. When he works with sellers, Greg excels at helping the owners price the house competitively based on their personal goals and aspirations. He also uses proven marketing techniques to ensure every home he lists receives maximum exposure to buyers.
